Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust ELK PHOTO TOUR *Digital Catture: f9 @ 1/250 sec., 11:00am 09.28.2009
HPW Director Mark Hutchison will again be leading several special One Day 'Elk Photo Tours' in 2010 during late September & early October. At least one of these Photo Tours will be sponsored by The Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust, with whom Mark led September, 2008 & 2009. Mark worked with the HCLT in 2009 to help produce their new book in honor of their Centennial Anniversary,"First Creation" now available by contacting the HCLT office, or purchase @ Cyrano's Bookshop on Main Street, as well as other businesses on the Highlands Plateau.
*This is a great opportunity for you to learn how better to photograph the elk and the Fall landscape in this beautiful Valley, (part of the Great Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park) for a very special rate of $100, (includes lunch).
Cataloochee Valley is about a 90 minute drive from Highlands. In order to take full advantage of this opportunity to see and photograph the elk in both morning and late afternoon prime light we will offer one early morning departure (6:00am) and one mid-afternoon departure (3:00pm) from Highlands.
The HCLT has arranged for Joe Yarkovich, (the Park Ranger expert on the Elk) to give a great presentation on the Elk & the 2001 relocation project that brought the Elk to the park after the morning photography session, and before the late afternoon session, (included in cost).
