Cullasaja River Gorge, Highlands, North Carolina
16"H x 20"W
The Lower Cullasaja River Gorge located just outside Highlands, NC., is a never- ending source of photographic subjects/inspiration for me. This image down on the river's edge was made in the "old days" with a large format 4" x 5" Sinar camera & fuji transparency film. A lot of hard work in those days hauling around the heavy tripods and heavy cameras, but it was worth it when looking @ the finished exposed film!
$500.

Perfection & Grace: The Swan; Whiteside Mountain Cove, North Carolina Oct 1985
20"H x 20"W
I am not a wildlife photographer per se, but when unusual photo opportunities involving wildlife present themselves, I attempt to adapt and make good through the camera lenses. I came upon this incredible perfect swan down in Whiteside Mountain Cove, outside Cashiers, NC., "The Perfect Swan," as I refer to her, was very much aware of me, and almost seemed to pose my my camera. One of those rare and amazing days when grace & perfection are briefly revealed to the person paying close attention...
$500.

Dawn @ "The BIG VIEW" Highlands, NC
20"H x 24"W
This view is among the most popular on the Highlands Plateau. Often referred to simply as, "The Big View," it is a favorite tourist destination during daylight hours. I prefer to visit @ dawn hours when few of the tourists are awake and driving past the view at breakneck speeds. This is a favorite location as well for our workshops. MUST be an early riser to catch light like this! NO Photoshop - shot @ hi-speed ISO to create in-camera, watercolor painting effect.
$500.
